Product Description

BARE KNUCKLE PICKUPS - MISHA MANSOOR JUGGERNAUT 7 STRING PICKUP

We are proud to announce the release of the latest edition to our artist signature pickup range, the Misha Mansoor 'Juggernaut' humbuckers.

Best known as the guitarist and founder of US progressive metal giants Periphery, Misha is also a much in demand music producer and has worked with Animals As Leaders, Stray From The Path, An Obscure Signal, Born Of Osiris, Being, Veil Of Maya and Volumes. A long time Bare Knuckle user it seemed a logical step to create a set of humbuckers that encompassed all of Misha's specific needs for his guitars.

These humbucker sets will be available at the end of the month in 6,7 and 7 string Soapbar, open and covered humbucker formats. Also available with optional 'Bulb' design cover etch which adds a further dimension to an already unique pickup.

"The Bare Knuckle Juggernaut encapsulates everything that I look for in a pickup in a ground breaking way. I can finally have the tightness and attack of a ceramic with the dynamics and musical nature of an Alnico. I can proudly call the Bare Knuckle 'Juggernaut' my signature pickup set." Misha Mansoor

The Juggernaut humbucker is designed with symmetrically hand-wound twin screw coils and has a unique combination of massive Alnico V and ceramic VIII flankers for its engine in the bridge and a custom size Alnico V in the neck. Bass response is big and focused with lots of weight in the mids for the ultimate in definition through complex extended chord voicings. High end is rich and vocal with all of the articulation and dynamic control that Misha demands for his progressive playing style.

"The pickups are full and musical at all times even though they are super tight and can turn very aggressive if you pick hard."

Whether it's crushing rhythm tones, fluid solo tone or massive clean soundscapes that you want to create, the Juggernaut humbuckers deliver on every level. The stunning optional 'Bulb' design cover etch adds a further dimension to an already unique pickup.

As with all Bare Knuckle humbuckers, 4 conductor hook-up not only allows access to standard series (humbucking) tone but also parallel wiring (still hum cancelling) or selection of either individual coil for total versatility.

  1. Got what I wanted in a pickup and more!

Posted by Matt Wilham on 27th Nov 2013

The Juggernaut is by far the best (and most expensive!) pickup I've ever played. I wanted a pickup that could deliver smooth-sounding full chords, lower note definition, and not sound overly harsh on the upper-mids/highs on leads, and I got exactly what I wanted. It sounds great with any rock style I've tried so far. Obviously it's aimed toward metal players, but I'm also able to get some really good sounding "calm" rock tones.

I installed this pickup into my Schecter Blackjack ATX C7, since I'm not really a fan the active SD Blackouts, or any active pickup for that matter. Since the Blackouts (along with EMG 808s) have a larger cavity routing than normal pickups, I knew I was going to have an ugly empty space around my pickup. When I ordered from Guitar Asylum, they didn't have the option for a soapbar sized cover yet. Gary actually called me to make sure my order was correct and asked what guitar I was putting it in. When I told him, he asked about the oversized routing and said he would change my order to the soapbar size. It honestly surprised me that businesses like this still care about what the customer is getting from them, and not just about the money. I'll definitely recommend and buy from them in the future.

My pickup did take about 3 weeks to receive after my order, but considering BKP just released these, on top of having to make a soapbar sized cover, I didn't mind the wait (even though I was obviously excited to receive it).
